Massimo D’Addezio was born into a family of restaurateurs and has continued along the same path whilst specializing in the art of mixing drinks and spirits. After having managed his own bar until the year 2000, the pivotal year in which he decided to take on a new challenge by joining the start-up team in the adventure of opening the Hotel De Russie, a Rocco Forte 5*Luxury property, in Rome. Originally the plan was to limit the experience to a maximum of three years, but it was so stimulating and so much fun that he stayed at the helm of the Stravinsky Bar for more than thirteen years thus creating a cosmopolitan environment completely addressed to internationality. In 2006 the Stravinskij Bar, under his management, was awarded as the best Hotel Bar in Europe.
In 2008 he was awarded by Havana Club as the best Bar Manager in Italy for the Espresso restaurant guide. In 2009 he received the Virtuoso Travel award, in Las Vegas, as Best Hotel Bar in the World.
From 2005 until today he is present on the Gambero Rosso Bar Guide as one of the best bartenders in Italy. In 2014 he opened a new concept bar “Co.So. Cocktail & Social”, a cocktail bar based on the care of the quality of service and on the discovery on the part of the customer of a modern and unconventional way of drinking. In 2016, his “Chorus Café” project in Rome, inaugurated in January 2015, enters Condé Nast ranking as one of the nine best bar in the world. Until today he can be found behind the counter (Max, in addition to being involved as a consultant, is also the Bar Manager). Over the years Massimo has become a protagonist with a leading role within Gambero Rosso Channel (TV and Online). He creates television content on the world of spirits and the world of mixology. He conducts his own program on the world of mixology “Spirits – I Maestri del cocktail”. In 2017 he published a recipe book “Spirits – The secret recipes of a semi-serious barman”
